New College Commemoration Ball

Nature's Endless Treasury

Nature holds the secrets of her beauty in close reserve, and it is through the ingenuity of extraordinary individuals that we can understand the complexity of the world around us.

On Saturday the Twenty-Fifth of June, Two Thousand and Sixteen, New College will mark its foundation with a spectacular Commemoration Ball inspired by the men and women who placed Oxford at the centre of scientific and technological innovation throughout history.

You are warmly invited for an evening of music, dance, entertainment and sumptuous refreshment, and to explore every exhilarating turn in the history of Science in Oxford; from the earliest beginnings of life to the deepest reaches of the known universe. Dine, drink and celebrate discoveries past, present, and yet to come surrounded by the majesty of the college's newly rejuvenated Buildings.

Stay tuned to discover the treasures that await you on June 25th...

Instead of carrying him to see
The riches which do hoarded for him lie
In nature’s endless treasury,
They chose his eye to entertain
(His curious but not covetous eye)
With painted scenes, and pageants of the brain.

- Abraham Cowley
